Our Story

Our Story

Freedom Farms is a first-generation family farm built from the ground up with faith, determination, and a passion for producing exceptional hay. We didn’t inherit generations of farmland or a family farming operation—we started with a dream, a willingness to work hard, and a commitment to doing things the right way. Every field we’ve improved, every lesson we’ve learned, and every milestone we’ve reached has been earned through perseverance, long days, and an unwavering dedication to excellence.

Farming has taught us patience, humility, and respect for the land. Every season brings new challenges—from unpredictable weather to the countless decisions that determine the quality of each harvest—but those challenges only strengthen our commitment to continuous improvement. We carefully manage every step of the process, from healthy soils and proper harvest timing to curing, testing, and storage, because we know our customers rely on consistent, premium-quality forage for the health and performance of their horses and livestock.

The 2025 season was especially meaningful for our family. After years of refining our management practices and striving to produce the best hay possible, Freedom Farms was honored to be named the 2025 Wilson County State Fair Grand Champion Hay Producer and the champion of the 2025 Southeast Hay Expo, where top hay producers from 14 states competed. While we’re incredibly grateful for these recognitions, we believe they are simply the result of years of hard work, continuous learning, and a commitment to never settle for “good enough.”

As we look toward the future, our mission remains the same: to glorify God through our work, care for the land we’ve been entrusted with, produce exceptional forage, and serve every customer with honesty, integrity, and consistency. Whether you’re purchasing a few bales or a truckload, we’re grateful for the opportunity to earn your trust and welcome you to the Freedom Farms family.

Our 3 Pillars

The three core tenants that our farm operates by: Precision, Organic, Transparent

Natural Sun-Curing

We rely on traditional, patient sun-curing combined with modern conditioning techniques. This drastically reduces dust, eliminates harmful mold risks, and preserves the natural, palatable sweetness that animals love.

Total Transparency

We believe you should know exactly what goes into your barn. Every batch we harvest is strictly analyzed for moisture, crude protein, and relative feed value. Our certified lab results are always readily available for your review.

Precision Harvesting

Timing is everything. We monitor maturity daily and harvest each variety; whether it’s our leafy Alfalfa, sweet Orchard Grass, or hearty Timothy; at the exact peak of its nutritional value to ensure maximum leaf retention and quality.

A Quick Word From The Owner

A Reflection on Our 2025 Hay Season

“The 2025 hay season was one we will always remember. Like every year, it was filled with long days, unpredictable weather, countless hours in the field, and an unwavering commitment to producing the highest-quality forage possible. Every bale represented the dedication, hard work, and attention to detail that our family pours into this farm. We were truly honored and humbled that those efforts were recognized with the 2025 Loudon County Champion title, the Wilson County–Tennessee State Fair Grand Champion award, and the championship at the 2025 Southeast Hay Expo, where many of the finest hay producers from across 14 southeastern states competed.

These awards are not something we take for granted—they are a reflection of the countless hours spent striving to improve our craft and produce hay that our customers can feed with confidence. While we are grateful for the recognition, our greatest reward is earning the trust of the families, horse owners, and livestock producers who choose Freedom Farms year after year. As we look ahead to the 2026 season, we remain committed to the same values that brought us here: hard work, continuous improvement, integrity, and producing premium-quality hay that we are proud to put our name on. Thank you for supporting our family farm. We look forward to serving you in the seasons ahead”
